Any tip for hair care?

Hair Care

Is shampooing daily harmful for the hair?

Everyday washing shouldn't be a concern as long as you are using a mild shampoo, which can suit your normal hair. Something that nourishes while it cleanses. If your hair doesn't feel unclean, just sweaty it is okay to simply rinse out the sweat too if you choose to.

Also, after wash, keep your damp hair in a turbaned towel for about 15 minutes. Finger comb it in a gentle massage like movements and only brush gently.

The right way of washing Hair

Oiling my hair every time does not help it in any way. On the contrary, you end up using more shampoo every time, damaging the hairs natural oil balance, making it dry. Once a fortnight oiling is just fine. To wash your hair, always wet it first before applying shampoo. Then, lather it by massaging with your fingertips. Rinse thoroughly until squeaky clean. Pat dry and finger comb out the tangles or use a wide tooth comb.

How to treat split ends?

Split ends, which are mainly caused when your hairs cell fail to hold together are result of exposure to harsh elements, chemicals or even excessive brushing.

The right kind of shampoo will minimize hair damage. Meanwhile it is also important to replenish ceramides, which are hairs natural cement, and is responsible for holding the hair cells together. A ceramides enriched shampoo will help repair hair fibre and reduce split ends.

To maintain Oily Hair

Oily hair always goes with any oily skin. The scalp has a tendency to secrete excess oil, which makes it lank and greasy. It is therefore important to keep the scalp will only activate the oil glands causing further oiliness. So will combing more than required more so ever, do not succumb to the temptations of a harsh shampoo, which temporarily restores your hair but in the long run harms it.

Using a special shampoo for oily hair is the best, which is gentle enough to be used often. Also essential is to rinse at the shampoo thoroughly finishing with cold water.

For thin and limp Hair

Thin, limp, hair does not have a tendency to fall flat and dead. What you need is a volume booster. For starters choose your shampoo carefully. Ordinary shampoos donut do much for your kind of hair. Look up a shampoo especially for limp hair

Secondly, donut comb your hair when wet, Let it dry naturally and finger comb it. A hair dryer can boost your hair for a while but on a regular basis can prove harmful for your hair. Then, brush your brush straight from your scalp and shake it free

For Dry Brittle Hair

First check your shampoo! If you are using a harsh, unsuitable shampoo, it will not only dry your hair, it will cause breakage and dry scalp may turn flaky and cause a lot of other problems.

Use an especially mild shampoo made for dry hair. One fortified with essential oils to replace the last nourishment is ideal. A good conditioner also helps soften dry hair. After wash keep your damphair in a turbaned towel for about 15 minutes.

Finger comb it in a gentle massage like movements-this-will activate the oil glands in your scalp. Then brush it gently. Oil massages followed by a steamy, hot towel on your head every 15 days will also help get rid of dryness

Hair Highlighting

With highlighting your hair can look brighter and glossier. However, salt and pepper combinations (contrasting mix of dark and light shades) should be avoided as they are unnatural and old-fashioned, and can be misread as dark hair turning Grey.

Although perfect highlighting requires to be handled by professionals, some wonderful effects can also be created with home-made treatments. Like finger painting and streaking can be used quite easily.

Neeed help with transitioning from relaxers to natural hair?

wat is the best way to do this? i need to get my hair healthy again becuz relaxer don't work on it anymore, but my hair is very short and gets hard to comb when it is natural. i do moisturize it, but are there any styling tips so my hair will be easier to comb and style?

Neeed help with transitioning from relaxers to natural hair?

While you are transtioning, I would suggest to style your hair in the style you want it in before it dries after a wash. You can use rollers if its long enough for that. If it's not, then as it grows you can put it in ponytails to dry or the rollers.

I am not sure what you moisturize with, but most products made for AA women are not even moisturizers. Like oils. They only seal in moisture. I know some women transitioned using scurl activator to help them be able to comb it better. (I used liquid hair mayo by africa's best which I think led to my not having much breakage) Always use the widest tooth comb you can find. And maybe experimenting with the no poo method. Meaning don't wash with shampoo. Conditioner can work just fine. (yes it's true) if you still are not so sure about it, add some lemon juice to it or use vo5 clarifying conditoner kiwi and lime. Shampoo tends to strip the hair. Leading you to continually have to fight the battle of dry hair.

there are also some great websites to help you:

motowngirl.com

nappturality.com

both have advice about what I have wrote about.

Neeed help with transitioning from relaxers to natural hair?

Well I will assume you have curly hair if you are using relaxers

first keep conditioning it if you have any beer around pour that on it and leave it do not wash it out the hops and wheat in beer is great for your hair and also put a leave in conditioner every day. there is also this spray you get to help the curl spray it on it is like anti frizz spray and just scrunch your hair with your hand after do not blow dry it ever.. It will be better than you know it in no time.. I was born with straight hair had a hospital stay and then came out with curly it took me a while to get used to it but them are the tricks I have found work. if you can help it do not wash it every day the number 1 problem with curly hair for some reason has less oil than other hair washing it strips the hair.. if you can go without washing and the same day pour the beer on even better.. Also if you put on a conditioner that you wash out put it on at night and comb it in and wash it out the next day hope this helps

I dont wanna shave cause it will jus grow back and i dont want to use hair removal things like nair because it is just like shavingonly no razor burn.

How do i thin back/arm/belly/face hair?

NO! DON"T WAX!

IT CAUSES THE HAIR TO GROW BACK DARKER AND WITH A THICKER ROOT STRUCTURE! IT'LL BE HARDER TO REMOVE.

Laser hair removal isn't permenant, no matter what anybody says, all it does it thin the hair. My dermatologist told me it's not FDA approved "permanent". It is a good idea if you want to do large areas of hair.

Electrolysis removes each hair is incredibly time consuming. That's only if there's a few dark hairs you want to get rid of.

Consult your dermatologist to find the best treatment for you, but it sounds like laser will be the most beneficial since it's such a large area of skin..

Waxing ought to do it.

I need big time help with my hair!!!!please?

everytime i brush my hair, it gets frizzy all the way from root to tip, and at the tip, there's a wave that points outward, on all the tips of my hair, i REALLY hate how it looks, but i have to brush my hair to get the knots out!!my hair is medium length(just past the shoulder), brown, and between thin %26amp; thick.i just really really need to know what to do to get rid of the wave at the tip,i don't know if layers will work or not, but i don't want to cut my hair any shoter=(i'm in a huge mess!!please help, i would really appeciate it

I need big time help with my hair!!!!please?

mmm maybe u ask this qu to a women or men who works in a ayurvedek shop

I need big time help with my hair!!!!please?

Use a wide tooth comb to get tangles out. Use a leave-in conditioner and frizz fighter to help combat the frizz. Get regular trims and don't style too much (avoid heated stylers like curling irons and flat irons and blow dryers). I have sorta wavy hair, and I wash my hair in the evening, let it mostly air dry, then pull it into a low pony tail for the rest of the night to kinda 'stretch' the wave out. Works for me, you might want to give it a try. (Don't wrap the hair too tight in the pony or it will dent the hair)

I need big time help with my hair!!!!please?

use a wide-toothed comb.....the lesser the friction, the better..........it may cause the frizziness...........don't style it too much,.........it can cause damage.....

I need big time help with my hair!!!!please?

Use a flat iron.

I need big time help with my hair!!!!please?

use conditioner everyday and treatment twice a week. it smoothens your hair. leave the conditioner for 5min then rinse it. you can put the treatment while you`re watching tv then rinse it after 30-45min.

How much Tip should you give a hair stylist / hair dresser?

I'm going in for highlights, hair cut, wash, with Style. The total cost is $130 but she is discounting it because I'm a new client. She is giving me a 30% discount so the total cost is $91.00. How much tip should I give her. What is the industry standard so I don't offend her if she does a good job. I now this is something that is sliding scale based on her performance but what is the industry standard so I have a base to work with (I would hate to insult her/ or overtip on a first visit).

How much Tip should you give a hair stylist / hair dresser?

industry standard is 15%, plus some say to tip the person who shampoos also(i dont) i always tip 15%, unless im not happy... then i let the stylist know... $95 is alot of money, and i expect satisfaction. i never mind paying or tipping for a service , as long as it is performed(ie... restaurant, nails massage, ...)

How much Tip should you give a hair stylist / hair dresser?

I would say about $15. depending on how good of a job she does. No matter the price I always time my stylist b/w $10-$20 no matter what she does to my hair.

How much Tip should you give a hair stylist / hair dresser?

20% tip

How much Tip should you give a hair stylist / hair dresser?

I would go by the national service industry which is between 15-20% depending on how well they treat you and how you'd rate their service. Hope this helps!

How much Tip should you give a hair stylist / hair dresser?

to depends on how well you like you hair after she gets done .i usually give five or ten dollars just for a cut and style so it depends on you.

How much Tip should you give a hair stylist / hair dresser?

you should start the tip scale on the amount she would normally charge, not on the amount she discounted. standard is 20% for a perfect job well done, so if she does extremely well, the tip should be $26. sliding scale for dissatisfaction or whatever you feel is appropriate. also, make sure that the salon accepts tips. many salons do not accept tips, (it's reflected in the service price.) in which it's totally acceptable to instead give non-monetary gifts. for instance, i used to have a stylist to which i'd always bring a starbucks gift card, which he loved. chocolate also seems to be popular, lol...

How much Tip should you give a hair stylist / hair dresser?

well if shes really good give her like 15 to 20

What part of my hair so I do pink highlights?

I just bought pink hair dye. I was think of doing sortof highlights. I'm going to do some streaks of pink in my bangs, any other suggestions? I was thinking of doing the tips of my hair pink but how could I get that as an even line? Thanks!

What part of my hair so I do pink highlights?

it looks cooler, with those wacky colors lol, to make it look uneven on the tips...or highlights...whatever u want to do. but if ur not a blonde already....those areas that ur gonna dye pink will need to be bleached first then u can dye them pink afterwards so that the pink actually shows up.

What part of my hair so I do pink highlights?

i think you might ask someone to help you bcoz, if you do it yourself you might feel difficult to make it even, and your neck will be too exhausted to wiat for the whole wrok done.!!!

What part of my hair so I do pink highlights?

really? i think unatural hair colors make you look fake....not a good thing!

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

like 2 years i got it cut really short like up to my chin and now i want to grow it out longer but the ends just get to dry so i have to cut it again...are there any tips with growing hair... Some good moistronizing shapoos or conditioners please help?

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

eat right, get it TRIMMED ever 6-8wks, and deep condition at least once a wk. and im sorry there is nothing you can mix together or buy that will make it grow. your hair only grows a half inch per month, but if u do not do the above 3, it will stunt your hairs growth. keep in mind you are trimming it not cuttin it.

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

idk

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

You gotta use a leave in hair conditioner all the time to try and prevent split ends. Frequent washing and conditioning is better for your hair because your constantly going from one extreme to another with temperatures.

Vo5 miracle mist is great because it doesn;t feel heavy or gluggy at all.

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

heres what i do: i have really long curly hair and i only get it trimmed every six months (moreso now because i'm happy with the length) condition like crazy. i condition my ends, shampoo, then condition all my hair. i towel dry then use a conditioning serum. use really thick elastics (headbands work the best). they're gentle on your hair. and don't wash everyday. buy shampoos and conditioners that add extra moisture. herbal essences makes a great moisturizing shampoo. stay away from any styling products, that includes hot irons. just stay natural and moisurized and that will help your ends from drying out so much that you don't need to cut as much off next time you go for a trim. good luck. curly hair rocks!!!

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

i have long curly hair!

i use a two in one called pert plus!

it helps!

and if u towel dry your hair don't rub your end pat them dry!

it will keep your hair from damaging the ends and getting split ends!

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

SUNSILK! haha i know u have it!! cuz im FREAKA like that! buahahh!!

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

Keep it moisturized! Try to use Biolage Shampoo and conditioner they have a moisturizing one that works great. It's like $15 a bottle though but the bottles are big (33 oz). You will see a difference and also try Infusium leave in moisturizing conditioner. Once I got a relaxer on my curly hair and it broke out and I had to grow it all back. I put grease on it at night and braided it every night in at least two french braids but mostly cornrow type braids. It sounds crazy but it worked. Also, you might want to try an oil treatment like V05 hot oil to keep it moisturized.

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

After you cut or trim off the dead hair..always use a moisturizing cream by Loreal. It is called Nature's therapy perfect curls defining creme. It comes in a dark orange tube. The cream is white and it is great stuff..

It is not sticky, or greasy, you can run your fingers through your hair when using it and manage your hair that way. I have medium to long hair, curly but when i use this product it works wonders for me..You have to buy a few tubes because of my hair length.

but i recommend this product to everyone!

try it and see for yourself! The sally store sells them too!

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

Buy Aussie shampoo, purple bottle. I love it. Different formulas, + now there's a new small-bottle conditioning treatment. What I think is the real problem, really listen. You are ruining your hair by how you treat it. You must be brutallizing it. There is a right %26amp; a wrong way to comb, brush, dry, your hair. Email me %26amp; I will give you all the hair help you want. I'm a private person, have no hair salon or product to sell. I feel bad to see people ruining perfectly good hair due to lack of knowledge.

Curly hair help? trying to grow it long!!?

wash your hair twice a week.. but remember to apply lots of conditioner..and if possible leave the conditioer for 3-5min on your hair before you wash it off.. and dont use too much of water to wash the conditioner off... and if you find any split ends trying triming it towards the end dont cut it so short... it should help you...

Help with frizzy hair...??? (pics included)?

Ok, my hair gets frizzy very easily. I am afraid to wash it myself because evrytime I do , it turns into a big frizzy dry mess, even my flat iron cant save it. I go to the hair dresser to get my hair permed and washed and even she has to sit me under the dryer, blow dry, and flat iron, and like a week or so later it's back frizzy. I try to take tips from my hair dresser on how to stop the frizz but it still doesn't work. My hair is natural wavy but I get the perm to make it straight. Could that be my problem? If someone can tell me what type of hair I have(with my perm), that would be helpful. Does anyone have any tips on how to stop frizz? Thanks.

Here are some pics:

Help with frizzy hair...??? (pics included)?

ok...so, I know you have "black" hair, but hair is hair...so go to the hair care aisle and find a really good conditioner with all the vitamins, especially B5, panthenol, and also try the V05 hot oil treatment...deep condition your hair at least once a week, and get the Infusium leave in treatment, and use that everyday...

Your hair is thirsty, and the strands are like little ribbons because your hair follicles are shaped like a line, (straight hair is from round follicles) I just put that in to illustrate a point...so you have to try to pump up the individual strands so they won't be so dry and frizzy...that is why you need to condition every day. I know about that whole "don't want to get your hair wet" thing, but what you want to do is to try to get your hair to hold onto as much of the water that is in your hair as possible.

After conditioning, use a good oil based conditioning treatment, to lock the moisture in.

Help with frizzy hair...??? (pics included)?

stop the perm maybe? otherwise after you shower, dry your hair with a paper towel.

Help with frizzy hair...??? (pics included)?

maybe getting your hair chemically straightened would help you out. you are very pretty!

Help with frizzy hair...??? (pics included)?

use sunsilk (de-frizz) shampoo, conditioner, and 24/7 creme.

also try using a really good moisturizing conditioner (treseme).

hot oil treatments help.

and using olive oil works great.

or when you get out of the shower, put gel in it, then straighten/blow dry it.

honestly i think your hair looks really pretty.

Help with frizzy hair...??? (pics included)?

Have you ever tried a hair gloss? Biosilk is good, but expensive - around $25 for a small bottle. Proclaim is good too and a lot cheaper. I buy it at Sally Beauty Supply. Don't use too much, though. A little goes a long way. Good luck!

Help with frizzy hair...??? (pics included)?

I have the same problem. There is this thing that I saw on t.v and it is like a brush, and an stratening iron for your hair. It also cuts a half inch off you hair and gets rid of your slip ends. It's amazing!!! I don't know what it's called but you can try to google it.

I need a REALLY good hair product or tip for my crazy hair. Its about shoulder length and its wavy/curly, and VERY thick, and when i let it air dry it gets HUGE!!! Its not too frizzy more poofy and I'd like better more controlled and curls. I need a product that I can just put in my hair easily because I swim first period at school!!

Also, I don't want my hair to have more volume, actually I'd like less and thats something thats so hard for me to find!!

Poofy frizzy hair problem!!?

my hairs curly so i feel your pain, here are some great tips

#1) try the John Frieda Frizz Ease collection...it works wonders with my hair

#2) if you really dont want any volume..then go get jap.straightening done

Poofy frizzy hair problem!!?

Try using straight and sleek shampoo and next time you are at the hairdressers, ask them to thin it out

Poofy frizzy hair problem!!?

yeah, sorry can't help ya out here hun,

i have like the same problem!!!!

this type of hair is soo hard to deal with, im 13 and my mom ahs gotten me probably every product on teh freakign shelf, i sorry, but good luck!

Poofy frizzy hair problem!!?

Try using Sunsilk!

It worked for me!

Poofy frizzy hair problem!!?

There really is not magic product that can make your hair less poofy. As much as I wish there was, there isn't. You need a good conditioner. Moisturizing is key. I can't really suggest specific products because what might work for me or someone else might not do anything for you. Its all trial and error.

- Try cutting down on shampooing

- Get a good conditioner and leave in conditioner

- Try using a curling mousse or gel but gel usually leaves you crunchy

- You could try using a texture softner

- Also when its wet try putting it in loose braids to get it to dry in curls.

Poofy frizzy hair problem!!?

I don't know that product can do much to take down volume like you're describing. Try chemically straightening at the salon. If your hair is extremely curly, it won't straighten it out completely...it should just make the curls more loose and wavy. You can also ask your hairdresser to thin it out.

Poofy frizzy hair problem!!?

Try Mixed Chicks products which are designed for people who want to go with curls and no frizz. And, they can also be used for people who want to go straight. Here is two ways to use the product:

For curls:

1. shampoo, rinse

2. deep condition, rinse

3. apply leave-in to clean wet hair and air dry.

4. leave your hair alone...no towel, or blow

To go straight for the day:

1. shampooo

2. deep condition

3. rinse and dry.

4. apply some of their leave-in conditioner to the ends.

5. do your iron or blow striaght.

Good luck.

Poofy frizzy hair problem!!?

i used to have hair like yours, and pantene pro-v conditioner worked WONDERS.

i don't know what to do about swimming though, because i'm not a swimmer. my sister uses a sports/swim shampoo, and her hair is not damaged by the chlorine. i don't know whether you have time to take a shower after swimming. you could try wearing a swim cap and then putting conditioner on your hair quickly in the shower.

Hair dye at a salon..cost?

I looked up some salons and they have starting prices. I want to dye my tips in front of my hair and maybe parts of my bangs. I wouldn't get any color anywhere else except the front of my hair. I don't really want to pay $35 and up for tips. The only reasons i want to go to a salon is that 1.The color I want(white or pink) can't be done well at home and 2. I don't want to waste a whole box of dye for tips. All the hair dyes i buy say not to save any left over dye.

Does the price at a salon depend on the amount of hair dye used?

Hair dye at a salon..cost?

It's $75 where I live.

Try to look up product reviews at www.makeupalley.com

They have a hair color section you can check out.

There are many over the counter products that might get you the look you want if you carefully follow directions. Be sure to strand test before doing large areas.

Hair dye at a salon..cost?

well it depends on the salon u go 2 the 1 i work at is 40 - 50$

Hair dye at a salon..cost?

the price is a set fee for dye period- a little or a lot, it doesn't matter, been there done that many times. If you found a price of $35, that's good, most cost $45-65, or higher the more you add them to do and depending on where you go.

Hair dye at a salon..cost?

you could ask them, or if you're friends with a hair dresser they might be able to do something for less. i'd say just go to your local beauty salon [hopefully they're nice] and ask them if they could do something just for you ya know?

Ladies with extremely long hair, how do you keep it from getting caught in everything?

I'm talking about ladies with hair past hip length...what are your tips for keeping hair out of the car door, house door, from being wrapped around doorknobs, and most importantly-out from under your husband/boyfriend when you're trying to sleep at night?

Ladies with extremely long hair, how do you keep it from getting caught in everything?

My hair is at my feet.... Currently it's 66 inches long and I do occasionally get my hair caught on all sorts of things.... I wear my hair down and loose I would say 95% of the time and just have to be aware of it at all times.... it's just a reflex when i start to get close to something that I know can harm my hair I wrap it around my arm.... I sleep with my hair down also and my husband never has the problem of waking up wraped in my hair unless he wants to be.... haha.... I keep it above my pillow and make a little area where my hair stays.... I guess by now it's just trained and knows it's place :o) Anywhooo.... Just try and be more aware and hold on to your hair when you know your around certain objects.... It can be done and I wish you luck.... Happy to hear their are a few women still growing their hair long :O) Smiles

Ladies with extremely long hair, how do you keep it from getting caught in everything?

i ty mine up in a bun and have this net like bun holder it keeps it all in one piece. my hair is to the middle of my back. how long is yours?

Ladies with extremely long hair, how do you keep it from getting caught in everything?

Have a lex luther

Ladies with extremely long hair, how do you keep it from getting caught in everything?

I have long hair also and I know it can be extremely annoying (Especially when you use the Restroom) but I put my hair in a VERY high ponytail or in a clip it keeps my hair out of the way, for the most part and sometimes I even put it in a Ballet Bun. But mostly in a high pony tail. Hope this helps!!!

Ladies with extremely long hair, how do you keep it from getting caught in everything?

i usually wear my hair up because it is so long. my hair is about to my thighs so i get it caught in a lot of things. when i slppe at night i almost never have problems though, i just sort of pile it to the top of my head on my pillow. i've also "trained" my husband to be very careful. other than that, when i wear it down i just try to keep it well brushed and be very aware of my surroundings.

Ladies with extremely long hair, how do you keep it from getting caught in everything?

I often have my hair pulled forward but if it is in back I have a leave in conditioner to keep it tame and just watch where it goes. More then once my hair has ended up in a door or under a sleeping baby.

I relaxed my hair twice, apply hairspray everyday and blow dry, what to do to keep from thinning?

i relaxed my hair again after only the tips of my hair were relaxed....after awhile i started using hairspray everyday and blowdry my hair , at times i would sleep with hairspray in my hair not knowing the dmg it would cause. Several days after i notice my hair getting thinner and smaller in quantity. Now it's like really thin and the light passes through easily..my hair only seems full in the sun now.. I think a major factor that affected my hair was leaving my hairspray in while i slept. Now i wash my hair everyday and get the hairspray out. I use hair tonic afterwards leaving it in. I've heard that if your hair isnt coming out in clumps then your hair should be ok. Plus when hair falls out new hair regenerates in its place. Is their anyway to keep hair from thinning and to prevent it from falling out so easily? Especially when wet. Someone please offer their knowledge! :D

I relaxed my hair twice, apply hairspray everyday and blow dry, what to do to keep from thinning?

Your hair is thinning because you've put a lot of chemicals in it and you use alcohol on it. Your hair is screaming at you right now to stop straitening it, stop using hairspray and give it some moisture. You need to put some kind of moisturizing cream in it and keep away from the blow dryer and hairspray for a while. You might have to sacrifice the typical hairstyle that you prefer for a while so you can help restore some of the health to your hair. You can also buy those hot oil treatments at the store, they are really good for your hair. But your hair is so processed and dried out that you need to take some steps to restore the health or your hair will fall out! It happened to my cousin. Her hair was thinning very badly. She did what I told her and her hair is fuller and more healthy now!

I relaxed my hair twice, apply hairspray everyday and blow dry, what to do to keep from thinning?

Apply hot cocnut oil mixed with a squeeze of lemon.its herbal remedy. it works well trust me.and keep it for 30 minutes before bath

I relaxed my hair twice, apply hairspray everyday and blow dry, what to do to keep from thinning?

Don't try so many treatments, they damage your hair. Oil massage, a proper diet with enough proteins and reducing stress can prevent hair loss. More cheap home remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm...

I relaxed my hair twice, apply hairspray everyday and blow dry, what to do to keep from thinning?

Try not to use so much chemicals %26amp; stuffs on your sensitive hair.

It needs air %26amp; natural syampoo.

For your diet (food daily supplement). You can try to drink more water, take black sesame with honey powder 1-2 teaspoon, eat it with anything you want e.g. bread/porridge/tea/salad, besides plenty of fruits helps too.

Massage your head before you sleep. A good 10-15mins helps.

Short Exercises %26amp; try not to always stress yourself out.

Do no dry %26amp; comb your hair too hard whn it's wet, it's whn it's most vulnerable.

These are among the method, I've used %26amp; others who've hair probs. have tried %26amp; proven results.

Some even wash their hair w. vinegar weekly to get off the toxics %26amp; artificial ingredients %26amp; thn put egg white, honey, to moisturize it before washing it off.

Hope these helps.

Else if you've more $$$, you can consult specialist.

I relaxed my hair twice, apply hairspray everyday and blow dry, what to do to keep from thinning?

yea i think your using too many chemicals also what kind of hair spray are you using i use hair spray but not every day i use ganier hairsparys and also,to help you hair from thining take vitamin E to help keep your hair healty...and use a sood shampoo and conditener like: i use tresemme moisture rich and i love it,it also haves vitaminE in it too and i use pantene sheer voulme and it has chemicals/achol in it but i wash my hair once a week to keep it clean when buying a new hair product look on the back to see if whats in it

I relaxed my hair twice, apply hairspray everyday and blow dry, what to do to keep from thinning?

Why did you only apply the relaxer to your tips? Never use hair spray in your hair. It will cause the hair to become hard and dry and break off. Stop blow drying your hair. Using to much heat on your hair will cause it to dry out and break off.

Use Doo Gro Anti-Thinning Lotion and also get Doo Gro Thickening Oil . Both products work really great.

Anyone use the Aussie Hair Catch the wave Moose + leave in Conditioner, flexible hold??

How do you like it and what kind of style do you get from it??? also I always use an infusium leave in condition after I wash and condition my hair, can I still use that if im going to use the other also, or will that be to much conditioner??

I have very thin, dry, frizzy hair.

Oh and I also use John Frieda's Frizz Ease for heat (the yellow one) when its wet before I blow dry, should I put that in before I use the moose + leave in stuff or not at all or after??

Sorry Im so confused Ive never been good with using hair product. Any tips are greatly appricated. THANKS

Anyone use the Aussie Hair Catch the wave Moose + leave in Conditioner, flexible hold??

you dont want to use too much hair product b/c anythiong that goes in your hair is chemicals so you want to put as less product as possible rememeber even the good things for your hair can damage it. so be carefull what and how much you put in your hair. so with that said im sure you knw too not put alot of things try to apply less then 2 things in your hair at a time like just leavin conditioner and something else or mouse and gel you get tyhe point right???

Anyone use the Aussie Hair Catch the wave Moose + leave in Conditioner, flexible hold??

Yeah it is ok. I used it for a little when I had longer hair. It is awesome for a beach look hair that is still touchable. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, so I have to be careful I don't wear anything too heavy.

Anyone use the Aussie Hair Catch the wave Moose + leave in Conditioner, flexible hold??

Try the BioSilk line for dry frizzy hair. It works wonders. Use it in wet hair as a leave in conditioner. I don't like the Aussie line. Its too cheap and you get what you pay for.

You could use a texture cream to get more volume so that when you blow dry you get more lift.

Question about dying my hair..help!?

I am African-American, and i usually get my hair pressed with a hot comb and flat iron-i have NEVER gotten a perm..i want to dye the tips of my hair a deep burgundy color..will i need to get a perm?

Question about dying my hair..help!?

I don't think one has anything to do with the other, except you really should not do a lot of procedures with your hair one on top of the other. Sounds like you don't have any chemicals in your hair now since you've never had a perm. First thing I would do, is condition my hair with a good conditioner, don't shampoo for a few days, shampoo, then wait a day or so and then put color in your hair. If there is any coloring that is made specifically for African-American hair, I'd use that. However, you may want to start out with a non-permanent color--Clairol makes one and it comes in a lot of shades. Sounds like deep burgundy would be nice. Stay away from the carrot red shades and the blond highlights. You want to enhance your beauty. You don't need a perm before you color. Good luck. Go to Rite Aid, Wal-Mart, etc., and look over the hair coloring products and don't buy the first thing you see. Think about it a little and try to envision how that color would look on you. Once you color your hair, it's hard to change it and it takes upkeep.

Question about dying my hair..help!?

I don't understand... what has coloring your hair have to do with a perm? Perming is curling your hair.

Try a semi-permanent dye first to see how it looks before you do anything permanent.

Question about dying my hair..help!?

no need to get the perm

Question about dying my hair..help!?

I would try a temp first.

Question about dying my hair..help!?

Buy a wig.......... I change my hair color and passport frequently.

Question about dying my hair..help!?

I don't think you will need to get a perm. But i reccomend going to a hair salon and asking a profesinal.

Question about dying my hair..help!?

probably wont need a relaxer, but you hav to make sure u take really good care of your hair and kep it conditioned. consult a good hairdresser, i think african americans are supposed to use permanent dyes, but i'm not sure. ask the stylist what the best product to use would be.

Question about dying my hair..help!?

My daughter is half African American and she has colour put in her hair from her local salon. Her hair is straightened with Dark %26amp; Lovely mild relaxer. She doesn't have a lot of colour put in as her hair is very dry and the texture different than caucasians. I don't know whether you are in Australia, but there is a place in Sydney called Jingles at Burwood that specialises in 'black' hair. She also uses a ghd iron for straightening even further. Hope this helps, any other probs feel free to contact me.

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

Does hair grow from the root (the part touching your scalp) or from the tip (the ends of your hair)?

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

Your hair grows from the root, which is actually imbedded in your scalp. Any hair that you can actually touch and see is dead cells. The only living part of the hair is the root. Think of it this way... if you got a haircut and it grew from the tip, you would never grow any new hair!

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

Hair grows from the roots. Think about it, when you color your hair you natural color starts showing at the roots as your hair grows.

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

the roots, when u color your hair and your hair grows the roots come your natural hair color.

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

Actually it grows from the center outwards each way. If it didn't, everyone would have fat hair.

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

From the root.

Find a biology book and read something of the hair

http://www.tiscali.co.uk/reference/encyc...

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

it has to grow from the root. look at women who color their hair.. the roots always show once the hair grows

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

of course the roots

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

i swear my hair doesnt grow i just think my roots fade... lol

really im pretty sure from the roots i mean how else would we lose the color from there and not the tips? why do we get split ends? because of repeatedly damaged over a period of time... it wears and tears it

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

FROM THE ROOT. grows slow.

Does hair grow from the root or the tip?

I wanna share something i read. Solves ur doubt too!

Hair Growth Cycle

Hair on the scalp grows about .3-.4 mm/day or about 6 inches per year. Unlike other mammals, hair growth and loss is random and not seasonal or cyclic. At any given time, a random number of hairs will be in various stages of growth and shedding. There are three stages of hair growth: catagen, telogen, and anagen.

Catagen - The catagen phase is a transitional stage and 3% of all hairs are in this phase at any time. This phase lasts for about 2-3 weeks. During this time growth stops and the outer root sheath shrinks and attaches to the root of the hair. This is the formation of what is known as a club hair.

Telogen - Telogen is the resting phase and accounts for 10-15% of all hairs. This phase lasts for about 100 days for hairs on the scalp and much longer for hairs on the eyebrow, eyelash, arm and leg.

Anagen - Anagen is the active phase of the hair. The cells in the root of the hair are dividing rapidly. A new hair is formed and pushes the club hair up the follicle and eventually out. During this phase the hair grows about 1 cm every 28 days. Scalp hair stays in this active phase of growth for 2-6 years. Some people have difficulty growing their hair beyond a certain length because they have a short active phase of growth. On the other hand, people with very long hair have a long active phase of growth. The hair on the arms, legs, eyelashes, and eyebrows have a very short active growth phase of about 30-45 days explaining why they are so much shorter than scalp hair.
