Men how do you get good waves in your hair?

My husband has had waves in the past, but for some reason , now he cant get them. He has good hair...... Guys what tips do you have?

what i did was got a haircut so that all of my hair was even then I washed it with only water(hot water)

(Repeat these steps every night)

I took a hot wet towel and put it on my head for about 5 minutes this made my hair soft, then i used a wave grease called sportin' waves, i spread it all over my head and used either a stocking cap or a du-rag to cover my head after I brushed it leave it on all night and in the morning you should see the results

oh yea after about a month he wont have to repeat these steps anymore his hair will be wavy but not if he gets it cut to low then he will have to start over
