I dyed my hair purple?

Ok, I dyed my hair purple with the Loreal Coloring Mousse today, and I only did the bottom tips of my hair... 1st time I did it, the directions said to wait 20 minutes and then wash it out until the water had no more coloring in it as I was washing it out... I waited for my hair to dry, and once it did, I had no coloring in my hair. I did it again, and I am still waiting for my hair to dry, and a lot of purple dye washed out into the shower once again, but that's what the directions said would happen, but when I waited, I had no purple coloring in it the 1st time I tryed... so what am I doing wrong?

btw, its not cuz my hair is too dark and its not showing up.

If you REALLY want purple, buy some manic panic dye. It's great stuff. (And vegan too.) Your hair might be too healthy to take the dye. It sounds funny, but if you condition regularly and treat your hair really well, it's probably not porous enough to really take the dye that well. Bleaching the area that you intend to dye can help the hair to take it. It strips the hair so it's more porous. You could even try peroxide if you don't want to buy anything. If you don't want to do that, you need a more intense color (hence the Manic Panic.) Leave it on longer than the package says. And take a blow dryer to it while the dye is on your hair. Good luck!

Unless your hair has been stripped of color (bleached), it just doesn't show up very well. Sorry.

Try leaving it in longer, your hair may need some extra time to hold the dye correctly.

You aren't doing anything wrong you have to wait unless 2 hours before your color start showing up.

the hair colour dont show immediately. it takes many washes everyday to see the effect. and it's not that it's not showing. its that the colour isnt that obvious yet. maybe you can see it under the sun for now. it will appear soon. sometimes it's because of the texture of your hair. if your hair roots are slighty thicker, it will take a longer time than just 20 mins. you can try leaving it longer. if you're afraid that it would over dry your hair, use a hair moisturizer after that. give it a 30-40 mins leave on for the dye.

i think i tried the exact same stuff last summer and it didnt work for me but i thoght it was cause i went swimming right after i did it i didnt try it again but if u really want purple wich i didnt want it that bad i just thot itd be fun u should try a more permenant one if u dont like u can still change it
