Over the summer I became a little trigger happy with Sun-In and my hair went from a lightish brown to really blonde, and I loved it. However, the self dye job started growing out and so now I have this beautiful slightly two toned hair! I would really like to get the blonde back but I am scared that if I dye it, it would take too much upkeep and my roots would look tacky. I want kind of an all over blonde look but I thought highlights would look too streaky and fake. Also, I don't want to break the bank on this hair, so is getting hair dyed expensive upkeep as well?
I know its probably pretty hard to judge, but just some advice or tips about changing hair color from light brown to blonde. Dye job? Highlights? Help! Thanks!

go get it foiled 2-3 colors. it will look natural and you can leave a touch of your color in there so when it grows out, it doesn't look so bad. You can have them do it really fine so it doesn't look chunky.

well you have to consider if you will have money about every month-2 months to die the roots, and maybe go with highlights first then if you want more bloode. do more. better safe than sorry

If you want a cheaper way to do highlights and looks good too without the streaky look try the highlighting kit with the cap, i have really dark brown hair and used it to put blond and it turned out really nice. The highlights will blend and its easy to choose where and what thickness you want your highlights.

ok, get some cheap-o hair color and when you go to color your hair apply more dye to the darker areas %26amp; as you get to the blonde part use less...to avoid spotted areas have someone make sure you didn't miss any parts....good luckkk

you could do it yourself, to go to the local Target or wherever and buy the color you want for between 7 and 10 dollars. There are different brands and you can pick whichever. They are easy to do yourself, honestly, i never thought i could do it myself, but its great. With that change in color it wouldn't be horrible upkeep.
On another note you could continue uing sun in, i did that for years and loved it and my hairwa so much more healthy, just spray the roots when you want or just spray in streaks and do a highlighting sortof thing.
Hair Color Help!?
dont dye your hair because sun in contains metallic salts and they will react with your hair dye causing your hair to fall out!! go to the hairdressers for a strand test before colouring
